The Calibre 1969 is TAG Heuer’s first movement totally built in-house, based on the design of the Calibre 1887 chronograph watch movement, but with a vertical-clutch system, 28,800 vph (4 Hz); max 80 hours power reserve and a difference in time adjustment, after 24 hours, of -4 to +6 seconds.

All TAG Heuer automatic movements are made in Switzerland and must meet extremely strict criteria for precision before they make it into a watch at your wrist. Their high frequency ensures excellent mechanical precision.

DESCRIPTION

TAG Heuer Calibre 1969, Swiss Made. Automatic calibre.

Diameter: 29.3 mm (13 ”), 6.5 mm thickness – 33 rubies. Rapid date correction.

PERFORMANCE

Balance frequency: 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz).

Power reserve: about 70/80 hours, about 60 hours when the chronograph is engaging.

DISPLAY

Hours — minutes — small seconds at 6 o’clock.

Chronograph minutes at 3 o’clock and chronograph hours at 9 o’clock. Central chronograph seconds.

DECORATION

Oscillating mass: “Côtes de Genève”, engraved “TAG HeuerCal. 1969Swiss Made”.

 

The movement is new and working but it was never tested for precision. As for any other vintage or unused movement, a basic revision is recommended.
