Memosail Skipper Jubile regatta chronograph watch from the 80s.
The movement is a very rare automatic chronograph Valjoux 7757 special made for regatta watches.
The Skipper Jubile model differs from the other Memosail timers, as being the only Memosail driven by a Valjoux cal. 7757 – a sailing timer based on the cal. 7750 automatic chronograph.
Unlike the standard Memosail Skipper models, the Skipper Jubile are 18K gold plated and the back-case is transparent. These watches were made in very limited series, and this watch is one of the few left in this such pristine condition.
There are various sources online claiming that the cal. 7757 was produced between 1985 and 1993, but ETA suggest that it was discontinued in 1988, which probably explains the lack of production watches based on this calibre. According to the same sources, the number of Skipper Memosail watches ever made is between 300 and 400 pcs.
Most of the watches that I am selling are liquidation or collector items, therefor I make no claims and give no warranty regarding continual accuracy of time keeping. Used, antique or vintage watches may need servicing, even if they are in good running condition. Unless otherwise stated they may need to be cleaned, oiled, adjusted and or timed. I cannot guarantee a used watch to be waterproof or water resistant.
