Today a part of Montblanc, Minerva started as “Robert Frères Villeret” and began registering brands in 1886, starting with “Mercure”, adding “Minerva” (the goddess of farming, craftsmanship and science) in 1887, and “Ariana”, “Tropic”, and others in 1898.
In the 1940s Minerva was a quite exquisite brand – their straps were made by one of the most prestigious Italian straps manufacturer – renowned for their craftsmanship in leather – Principe (today Principe 1940).
These vintage straps by Principe are hand made from the best leather. Each strap has its own pouch marked PRINCIPE and MINERVA.
The buckle is marked MINERVA.
